How does SolarImmersion communicates with the immersion heater?
SolarImmersion uses the existing wiring from the consumer unit to your immersion heater to control and divert the surplus power.
Do you recommend any location to install the SolarImmersion control unit ?
The recommended location to install the unit is near your consumer unit. This makes easy access to your existing immersion wirings and also the grid supply lines to clip the sensor.
Will SolarImmersion affect my generation meter readings?
No, SolarImmersion control unit will not affect your generation meter reading and you will get your fill FIT payment.
Do I need to change the existing immersion heater or hot water tank?
SolarImmersion works with your existing immersion heater or hot water tank. This means no more costly and messy immersion heater change to divert the surplus power.
Do we need to install new wiring from the consumer unit to the immersion?
No, SolarImmersion uses the existing wiring from the consumer unit to the immersion. So no new wiring is required.
Will SolarImmersion work with a combi-boiler?
Yes. SolarImmersion could be used with a combi-boiler, but will need a pre-heat tank on the heating circuit. A plumber may be needed in this case.

Yes, SolarImmersion can support multiple loads for example when the water is hot enough and the thermostat cuts off a second load could be activated eg. for auxiliary heating.

Yes, several SolarImmersion could communicate with each other to work together.
What is the warranty on the unit?
SolarImmersion comes with a 1 year repair or replacement warranty.
What is the minimum export power required for the SolarImmersion to divert the power?
SolarImmersion could start working and divert the surplus even with a 10W export power. The unit will wait until the export level reaches 10W before diverting the surplus to the immersion. The settings could however be controlled using jumper settings…
Could the sensor cable be extended?
Yes, the sensor cable could be extended up to 50m. Use a twisted pair data cable for this purpose.

Yes, SolarImmersion works with all sorts of grid-tied micro generation systems.
